There are many names for it but I prefer inner sight or second sight
because that's what it is seeing in a second, different way.
Sometimes a more accurate way. From here on when I capitalize the
word See or any other declination of the verb "to see" I'll be
talking about inner sight.
I have always believed we were all born with ability of second sight
but are told by the adults what we See isn't there and so by
constant conditioning have it drummed out of us. Watch a child under
4 for a couple of hours notice how he becomes engaged by something
you don't see and stares at it for a long time(for a baby that
is)<smile>. He *does* See something you do not.
The ability is usually there in early childhood but is drummed out
of children by adults who can't See. School & society at large
further reinforce this over time. Like any skill if you don't use it
you lose it.
Seeing is a natural occurrence in both man and some animals. Cat's
can See. Abyssinian cats were bred in part for their Seeing and
telepathic abilities. They used it as a means of communicating with the
Egyptian priests & other Temple cats.
When using second or inner sight you are using inner sight not your
eyes so it makes no difference if you close your eyes to avoid
distractions. For the novice it's often best to close your eyes. The
image will appear the same place as regular images, in your mind.
Things such as Auras & Ley lines are magnetic emanations from
people, objects or the earth. It is essentially the same ability as
Skrying only used in a broad rather than narrow focus.
For me, now, it is merely a shift in perceptions. Like the difference
between reading a book & looking a across the room. I use my eyes for
both but in slightly different ways, shifting focus.
It can be reacquired though patients, time & training. Just like any
sport it takes time and effort to learn the game and get the body
into shape to play the game. It can not be done overnight or without
sweat, strain and sacrifice regardless of raw talent. Just like
sports it takes a coach, trainer or Mentor to gain real mastery. To
get really good results it takes a Mentor that can See to check your
results and verify if you have it correct. When someone I am
training Sees the world for the first time. It is a wondrous, joyous
thing. They become almost child like in the fascination with the
world and all that is in it...again, and yet for the first time!
In the beginning I would observe while assisting my Mentors & others
performing various Rituals on both the inner and mundane planes then
afterward we would discuss all aspects of what I Saw & witnessed
with my Mentors making corrections in my observations and analysis.
Then I would try to duplicate the exact same Ritual with my Mentors
observing, helping & correcting their pupil. Sloppy work was not
tolerated at any stage. If I messed it up I had to begin again under
the watchful eye of my Mentor. I learned to observe, think, analyze,
compare & verify critically. Then ask questions, lots of questions!!
Ponder & reflect, then more questions!! I make notes and references
about everything, I still do. I am always sceptical until results
are verified and repeated. I am also not opposed to stretching my
thinking beyond the things that I know or in new ways. All these
things can be Seen by a trained Mage. Including any Magick "raised"
by someone else using power. Even if I do not understand the means
or words I can See if the Magick had any real form or power. Any
kind of real Magickal training subtly changes the aura permanently
so that all who can See know what kind of power you can wield. This
was standard training for Bishops of the early Church at one time.
It was a direct means of Seeing that the Priest was doing his job
correctly. It is sad it is no longer the common practice of the
Church today.
Ok, So now how to do it. It is essentially the same ability as
skrying only used in a broad rather than narrow focus. So if you
have any ability at skrying, practice, practice, practice, practice,
practice. Unfortunately to get really good results it takes a Mentor
that can See to check your results and verify if you have it
correct. Try sensing the human aura first around the human body with
your hand. That tells you where to "look". The nimbus around the
head of a health adult usually extends from 3" to 20" from the head.
Remember you are using second or inner sight not your eyes so it
makes no difference if you close your eyes to avoid distractions.
If you have your eyes open it sometimes helps to shift them out of
focus and gaze beyond the object or person who's aura you wish to
see. There are two parts to the animal aura the health or vitality
of the animal and the emotions or feelings. It's the emotional
content that can be shed or left on things or places. Such as
feeling peaceful or calm in a church or temple and not knowing why.
By constant use buildings and places build up auras of their own.
Both good & bad. Sometimes they are influenced by a magnetic flux or
ley line of mother Earth. All these things can be Seen by a trained
Mage. Including any Magick "raised" by someone using power. Even if
I do not understand the means or words I can See if the Magick had
any real form or power. Any kind of real Magickal training subtly
changes the aura permanently so that all who can See know what kind
of power you can wield.
For further reading I would suggest; "Thought forms" by Annie Besant &
C. W. Leadbeater ISBN 8356-0008-4 & "Chakras" by C. W. Leadbeater
ISBN 0-8356-0422-5 both have color plates. Sorry to keep throwing
books at you but how else you goin' learn unless I come and camp on
your doorstep<grin>. The colors are close but the real ones are more
vivid, vibrant & dynamic because they are living.
